headers

I have a 67 f100 shortbox pickup with a 429 cobra jet.Wondering if i should go with long or short tube headers from L+L products.these headers will hang below the crossmember and leave about 4 1/2 to 5 inches of clearance to the road will this be enough?these headers make good horsepower they say 40-42 horse for long tube and 30-32 for short tube.any suggestions?thanks

The clearance would be just enough. I have ran less in the past, but I had to slow down for everything.

I would use the shorties if you don't want to worry.

I'd say it's worth the peace-of-mind to go with the shorties. Personally, I hate the lowest thing on the chassis to be the headers. 4-1/2 to 5 inches of clearance is pretty good, but I can still see the occasional situation come up where you're going to be scraping and denting them.

headers

would really like to have the extra 10-12 horsepower, but don't want to destroy 550.00 set of headers.more power is better wouldnt think there is that much differance between long and short tubes
