E40d Problem
i have a 95' f-250 psd w/ e40d transmission. just recently the overdrive lite started blinking, and when it does the transmission seems to shift harder as if the fluid pressure is raised. anybody know what this means, other than take it to a shop? please let me know.

E40d Problem
Ahhh, the classic hard shift. This is your converter, I have a 97' F350 and it did the same thing. Took it in and the converter was shot causing the hard shifting. If it is controlled by a computer, try disconnecting your battery terminal for 15 minutes and then see what happens. This should reset your computer causing it to shift normal for a awhile. You will eventually have to replace the converter. I just put 30,000 on my rebuilt transmission and I have to rebuild it again! Freakin' E4OD are crap. I have been told which I am goin to do thid time around to add an aftermarket transmission cooler and take it off of the radiator ( not too sure if yours is like this) and it should add around 30-40,000 miles on the rebuilt trnasmission.
