What's this?

it's near the coil and shares the same loom as the coil power. It's a bit melted, but I would like to test it if there is a procedure.

My first guess would be a ground wire.

It's a real fancy ground then. I'm so beat from working on this truck. I wake up tired.

It's supposed to keep RFI noise from the ignition system out of the radio and electronics. It is not a ground.

It looks like there is a number on it, not visible in the blurry picture. Start by posting that or looking it up.
