Hello fellow bullnose owners, quick question, would and 86 efi 302 balancer and flywheel be the same as an 82 carbed 302. I wasn't sure if there cranks were wieghted differently. Thanks for the help

The 82 balancer should work no problem. 1980 was the changeover year from the 28oz 302.
I am not sure about that. I have heard 82 was the changeover year. Why don't you eyeball the weight on both flywheels and see if they are the same. The older style is 28oz and the newer style is 50oz.

It never hurts to check, but I've got 1980 as the changeover from multiple sources. 1981 and newer got the 50oz.
I hope the original poster checks it out and writes back in. I believe the grey area is how it exactly happened. Ford was famous for mid-year changes, so possibly 1980 was a 28oz year, 1981 was a transition year and had both types, and 82 was the first year for having all 50oz? Don't know, it would be nice to get it cleared up a little bit.
What are you doing? De-commissioning a 86 fuel injected engine, putting a carb on it and putting it in a 82 truck?
I did the above on my old 80 I used to have, and I bought a universal flywheel from Summit racing. I think the last time I looked they don't sell it anymore, but it had weights that slide around depending on the year engine you had. You slid the weights together for the 50oz setup and slid them apart for the 28oz setup. I had put a 86 fuel injected MarkVII engine in my truck.
The 1986 parts should work with a 1982 engine if you match the balance. However if it's been remanufactured, heaven knows what it's got on it as some of the remanufactured engines got either 28oz or 50oz as was handy at the time.
But here is a rule of thumb from my parts book, which is in no way definative to the problems you may encounter. The parts are transmission, engine, 49 and california specific as well as EEC vs NON EEC. So this is the best I could come up with.
