I was wondering how you would go about testing your intercooler. I have a Banks Intercooler in my 05 F350 and have high EGT's. I do not have a tuner but was looking at getting an SCT with custom tunes from innovative diesel but am afraid of making the EGT's worse. Yesterday, I was driving with my unloaded ATV trailer(about 1,500 lbs) and my EGT's got up to 1150. My EGT probe is pre turbo off the driver's side exhaust manifold.
I have a 2005 F350 6.0 with the EGR blocked by a straight thru up pipe and an EGR plug, Zoodad Mod, Banks Air Intake, CCV Reroute, Banks Intercooler, Elite Diesel Moderate FICM reprogram, New Garrett Powermax Turbo, New Elite Diesel Y pipe with Heavy Duty Exhaust Bellows, 4 in Exhaust Down Pipe, 4 in exhaust with a hollowed out CAT, Snow Performance Water/Methanol Injection, ITP Fuel Regulated Return, Edge Insight for monitoring EOT, ECT, Trans Temp, EGT's, and gauges for fuel pressure and battery voltage.
1150 EGT's is high??? That' could be from the FICM tuning and turbo change. That's NOTHING to worry about. If it got to 1300 or 1400 doing that then I'd think you had a problem. Drive on driver.

thats what i was thinkin. with stock tuning i can hit that. your fine!
I have yet to pull my 15k fully loaded 35 foot Toyhauler with the changes I've made. I bought the Banks Intercooler thinking it would help keep my EGT's lower. With my old stock turbo, I was hitting 1300 pulling my Toyhauler up a 7% grade at about 40mph. I was thinking the larger Banks intercooler would keep it lower.
