ya ist doabel with a couple hangups, i use the method to swap all my lifted 4X4s motor...trucks to tall for over core cherry picker lift....
1-un hook all electriclla and hose connections between front clip and body...
2-remove bumper
3-unbolt the core support and 3 bolts from cab suppotr/innerfender..each side
4-remove lower fender bolt and the one inside the door frame...each side
5-remove fender to cab strap bolt locate near fromt cab mount..
6-remove ground strap, hood to cab and fender to frame...
pulling the radiator will make the front clip lighter as will the hood but i leave the hood on for alignment purposes...now you and a buddy can pull it and carry it off..be careful though the fenders will want th rub the cab and scrtach your paint.. i've found setting the truck on jack stands and rremoing the front tire is a neccasry evil..it helps alot...be aware the core is gonna be the heay side and its gonna wann tip that way...
Buddy and I lifted mine off when I gave him the FE block out of my '74 supercab. It's really only a few bolts and it makes the motor VERY easy to get to and mess with!
You bet. Here's from when I dropped a new one on mine:
Gitter done!
That looks more easy than taking it apart piece by piece like i have been doing it since i haven't got anybody to help me. I can see where you have the rear chain hooked, where did you hook the front ones ? Thanks JIM
You can probably leave the radiator on too. The big ones weigh 65LBS! And you have to hold it in mid-air to get the first bolts in, as you probably know. Or is mine missing something?
