i have a 1995 Ford ranger V6 and it dose not run i think i i know what the problem is but i dont know how to fix it it turns over like it should but it dose not start and there is no power going to the pump and am not sure the inertia switch is working like it should is there a way i can test this or can anyone tell me if the inertia switch makes sounds like a rattling sound or not please let me know thanks to all the helps
If the inertia switch button is up, just push it back down to reset it. More likely you have a blown fuse or a weak ground going to the fuel pump on top of the tank. Have you checked the fuse?
try spraying starting fluid into the intake tube, and if it starts then ur problem is getting fuel, but if it dosnt then check if ur getting spark on ur plugs and if you not then it could be the computer, but check for fuel and spark first
i have spark just NO power going to the fuel pump thats my problem and all the fuses and relays are good but i need more on the inertia switch how the button needs to be up or down in side it

If the inertia switch reset button won't stay down in the set position, suspect it's faulty.
At KOEO, if you don't have B+ power coming into the in cabin inertia switch feed wire, check the fuel pump power relay, it's under hood in the power distribution box, drivers side firewall, back in the corner where the fender & firewall meet.
These power relays are a common problem part, so maybe try thumping it & see if it'll wake up, or try swapping it with a like relay not needed to run the engine, like the A/C power relay & see what happens.
yea i have got new relays and all and i have taken a volt meter to the power lines running to the pump and fuel gauge and i only get power to the gauge but not the pump and i have even tryed to crank it up with the volt meter in the plugs that run to the pump and nothing and no power at all so am not sure what to do next
OK, do you have power coming Into the inertia switch, from the under hood fuel pump power relay, for a couple of seconds when you turn the ignition switch to run????
The fuel pump is new. Who installed it? I know on my 95 the fuel pump is the old style and I have had to replace new ones because of an installer overtightend the little brass nut and broke it. (very easy to do). I hope that's not your problem. But its something to keep in mind.
update i have changed the fuel pump,Ignition Switch,Crankshaft Position Sensor and i am getting FIRE but no power to the pump what would cause that to happen and i have changed the inertia switch so it is new some one help me please and please READ WHAT AM SAYING I HAVE POWER AT THE "power distribution box" all my fuss are good and working fine sorry if i come off sounding mean but i have stated this in the first post i have power but not at the pump
Have you checked the wires UNDER the fuse/relay box? I was talking with a guy sometime back and he said that the wires may work loose at the connector or even break. I dont know as I have not had fuel pump relay problems in some time (knock on wood), but this might be something to check. is there power at the FP?
no NO POWER but at the power distribution box and fuse panel and it stops and starts there i found the pink and black striped wire that runs to both and there no power on that line anywhere i have checked and checked key on cranking and key off and at the connector and there power on it at all and same i have checked it many times
