thanks for the replies i still havent got a call from this other diesel tech i got a little to busy today and i couldnt pick the truck up im tired of waiting so im just gonna pick it up and start tearing into it im going to start from point one and do a step by step no matter what the other mechanics found or tested im going to check all work they did and do my own tests. i looked at the uvch's visual check and no cracked wires on iether side but i never took of the valve covers and looked under but its on my lists. POCKET so you dont think its the pcm? as soon as i get the truck back ill ask how to rule out the pcm hopefully the shop is open tomorow so i can pick my truck im sick of waiting.
The reason is that your no start went away temporarily after messing around under the valve covers. The truck started, stumbled, then cleared up and ran. Then the next day repeated the no start. A PCM problem won't do that.
Plus, your tech ran diagnostics through the PCM. If there was a malfunction of the PCM, it would show up during diagnostics too.
