Wlcome to FTE and Thanks for your service.
You should change all fluids if you do not know when they were changed last. That will get you a record of what you have done and when it needs to b e done next.
Go to Guzzles page.He has all kinds of write ups on mods and maintenance.
We have good sponsors here that can help with parts.Post where you are at and others will chime in.Good Luck....Thank you!

Welcome to FTE & I second what was said above!

As far as the mirror goes you have choices for an OEM mirror; dealer (expensive), junkyard (good luck) or ebay......I have personally gotten a good set of '05 paddle mirrors for my truck off ebay for a good price, but you still have to be careful! Most of the aftermarket stuff is junk.....do a search on mirrors here and you will find some good info.

As far as better mpg's......read threw the above link and if you are not looking to add a lot of power then go w/ a Superchips programmer; it will give you some more power, better throttle response and better mpg's as long as you keep your foot out of it. If you want to really have fun and get more power go with a DP Tuner.........

Enjoy your new truck!

As far as getting better mileage, keep the rpm around 1900 max when cruising down the hiway.. it will really help. Also keep the front tires inflated up to about max..
Alot of us use www.partsguyed.com for OEM parts from Ford.. great discount prices.. (click on "Your Account" and then "Contact", and tell him what you want, along with your Vin #)
Welcome aboard.. and thanks for your SERVICE.

Welcome to FTE. And like others, I too, thank you for your service. You will find a wealth of information here. Read, learn and have lots of fun. Now if you are a patient man, give the weather time to improve so I can do extended work outside and you can get your mirrors fixed through me. How you say? Well, I have a set of 2010 mirrors waiting to get put on and my 99 350 mirrors that will be taken off might just be looking for a home. Please note that it may be after Easter before they are available. My work makes this season rather busy.

Welcome to FTE.

I run a Super Chip Tuner (less than 100$ at O'Reilly, AutoZone, ect) and it has improved my mileage (and power) by 1-3 mpg (depends on how I run my truck). Many here will recommend a DP-Tuner and that is a good choice, also.
