Raining inside my Ex......

Im just wondering if anyone has had this happen to their Ex..
It was raining a couple of nights ago and I noticed that water was dripping in from the ac vent right above the 2nd row passenger seat. Note that I havent drove my Ex. It started raining after I parked for a couple of hours. Now my question is. Where in the heck is the water coming from? Any insight would help.

Thank you.

Two ideas:

Condensation, the vents got cold from use, you parked it and a warm rain came in causing condensation due to the heat transference between the rain and the roof of the X. Was it really humid before the rain?

Leaking roof rack channel. Check around the track on the roof and look for damaged or degraded rubber under the track. It could only get in where the screws are that hold it down. Maybe even consider pulling the tracks and squirting some silicone caulk in and aroung the screw holes.

Good luck

The rear A/C is next to the tire jack inside that side compartment.
I had to remove that entire side to replace my 3rd row seat belt.
The A/C duct goes from about FLOOR level UP to the ceiling,
it's in the channel behind the 2nd row pass side seat belt mounting pt.
You'll notice that "C-piller" is a LOT wider than the "C-piller" on the
Driver's side. So, I can't imagine a water leak getting into that air duct
- except a hole in the roof - roof rack mounts?

Just a comment to bump this topic. For anyone that hasn't taken a moment to inspect their roof rack screws I would highly recommend it. One of mine was completely gone and two others were loose which resulted in a pretty horrifying (scary not damaging) water leak into my second row including the aftermarket dvd player! Luckily it all dried up easily but just hoping this bump will help just one person avoid a leak that can be avoided with a quick 2 minute inspection.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I was going to work on my rack slider bars this weekend, so it will be a good time to check.

Update.... I found out from my sister (previous owner). That one day she was driving into a parking gargage and the Ex was to high and she had torn off the front bar of the Roof Rack.. lol So that was the cause of my leak. All screws tightened and no leak. I, however on a free day will remove all screws and put some sealant on the threads and put them back in... I dont wanna damage my new 10" dvd player if the leak decides to come back....
