Check the status of the transmission. Any maintenance/repair records, fluid level/condition, etc. The A4LD doesn't have a very good reputation, so you'll want to know if it's been taken care of or not.

more things to check.....
Ball joints, axle U-joints, radius arm bushings, oil leaks from rear main and oil pan and valve covers, seized rear wheel cylinders and park cables, transfer case operation (goes into 4x4 ok).
That's all I can think of for now

What were you doing here? How long did you live here?
Things havent changed all that much lately, other than that SCI mill is shut down, lotsa people arent working, new high school being built, Walmart coming to town etc etc

Hey I worked for a forestry consultant I lived there for 5 years. I am on the east coast now. I miss some things like the fishing
and I dont miss other things like the seasonal work. Its good to hear that the economy is still good.
