2005 f-150 4.6l v8 rough idle only when truck is to normal operating temp. I have run several gas system cleaners through the truck. I replaced the air filter, the fuel filter and the spark plugs. I am only getting 14to 15 mpg mostly highway. No DTC's are showing up. The truck only has 50,000 miles. Any ideas are appreciated!
well I went through alot of the similar stuff with my 5.4 and you will get alot of people telling you to put a new fuel filter on which I would recomend.
I would also recomend to look at plugs and coils which i doubt that is an issue because it hasnt tripped a check engine light i am assuming.
Also people have told me that cleaning their throttle body and maf sensor cleaned their idle up.
what i just found thanks to someone on FTE is that the A/C system had low refrigerant in the system so it caused it to run rough. I just added two cans into it according to the refill guage and i instantly noticed a smoth idle. hopefully it stays that way!
Mine does it, checked 3 others and they do the same, even when cold.
+1
Mine does this as well. It's just what they do. If I recall correctly there was a ECM flash you could have the dealer do which would increase the RPM's while idling to fix this problem. Although I read this so long ago that I could be wrong.
