Does anyone have a template for the kick panels on a 54 F100. I would like to get a pattern so I can make my kick panels. The end product will be a set of sturdy panels that I can mount speakers into.
I just redid mine (53) and used "door skin"/luan from Home depot. I had to cut and reshape twice to get it just where I wanted it. The wood was about 3/32 thick 4' X 8' and cost about $10 bucks, plus it cut with a razor knife. The idea came from someone that posted about a headliner of the same material
Thanks for the ideas. Once I get a template I will probably use MDF board so I can put a speaker in it. The MDF allows for the vibration of the speaker output so you have better clarity with the sound.
I use cardboard when I need a template and trim and trim until I get the pattern I need. Works every time. For precision patterns I use poster paper to trim a pattern.
I found the picture of the kick panels . I cut a pattern out of cardboard until it fit and then cut a piece of luan. I covered them with vinyl and used three stainless screws to install them.
I used 1/8" aluminum for my panels, which are perfectly flat on a '52. That gives the speakers something solid to push against. Also allows surface mounted speakers, no cutting of the structure.
I wouldn't mind patterns for a 56 if someone could post them otherwise I'll have to bite another bullit and buy some, lol. Bullits are starting to get expensive I've bit so many, lol
