66 F250 Power Brakes and Discs - progress and a few questions
#32
John you are just too much! we know what your opinion is we have all read it repeatedly in numerous threads, and we still choose to do things our own way... hey guess what we have the right to do that. Well Nonoodlez has his parts, from a donor truck, and a part from an auto parts store. He didn't ask for your opinion on buying a donor truck, he simply had a question about hooking up the brake lines. If you want to buy donor trucks feel free I don't care one way or another. If you have helpful hints or suggestions, please feel free to share them. The next time you feel like peeing on someones leg Think twice because this has gotten old.
Here are the words of another previously in this thread:
He'll be ok. I just get tired of looking in a thread for relevant information only to see "get a donor truck" or "see if you got a donor you wouldn't have this problem." It is nothing personal. It just seems to clog threads with the same thing over and over and over. It is not an option for everyone. Either space, lack of availability or the dreaded home owners association or all of the above are some major obstacles to the whole donor truck thing. It might be great if it is an option, but it just plain is not for everyone. Not only that, but in the middle of a project after already having sourced a good number of the parts, I doubt someone is going to stop and go buy a donor truck for the last 1-2 pieces they need. I know I would not.
So let it go John we have all heard it!

Carry on. Go buy this part here and that part there, aint nothing but money. A guy can always come here and ask how to make it work. right?

Maybe you should write a thread on the advantages and positives of buying a donor truck vs piecing stuff together and maybe the mods will make it a sticky! That way you would get your viewpoint out to everyone.
Isn't that kind of the point of these forums....to help each other out and try to pool knowledge? I mean it is not just about showing pictures of trucks or you could just go on google and do an image search.

The thing is: Buying or getting everything from a donor truck, you will KNOW what the parts came from.
Buying parts piece meal from this and that truck/autoparts stores, you better record what the parts came from. Otherwise, when something fails, you won't have a clue where to get the parts
If I had received 100 bucks from every clueless schlub that came to the parts counter, asked what the hell the unknown parts were from, I could buy a new F150 Lariat.
