My stock 01 7.3 auto with 3.73 gears was getting 16.6 long term 20.000 miles I put a Tornado fuel saver on it and and I started getting 17.6 long term. All this was 65 max speed and 10 miles over elsewhere. I have recently slowed down to 55 and 10 over elsewhere. Filled up last Wens, 460 miles and it has yet to reach the half way mark on the needle. looks like 23 mpg so far. Take your foot out of it. I'm thinking about getting a chip also. Hope it will get another 2 mpg. I would like 25 mpg right now.

7.3 Mps
Is this some sort of stupidity test? If I belive you, is that when people jump out & start beating on me for being too stupid to live? 25 mpg -- you can get that, actually in a SD. If you go downhill with your engine turned off.
I'll find out sometime this week when I fill up again. Right now I have 500 miles on it and it just has hit Half way. At 65 I would normally get only 360. I normally get about 700 miles per tank. I have gotten 750 but I really pushed it. I put 42.5 gals. back in it then.
Not only would 55mph drive me crazy (ok- more crazy), but it'd probably get me killed on the highways around here. But, at that slow of a speed, I don't think 22mpg is completely out of the question. I'd be a little cautious of 25mpg claims though.
