The two happiest days in a boat owners life is the day he buys it and the day he sells it.
I'd check it over real good for rot...Bottom of the transom is a good place to start. The Vin should be on the transom as well, look in the upper corners.
If you thought the PSD was a money hungry beast.....LOL

Reason: add more
It might be close to the rub rail...But it should be there. I can't see your pics, I'm at work..In MD its easy to get a boat re titled if lost. It happens alot. I would also replace the water pump in the drive unit.
Like JetDoc said, it should be on or around the rear or on the transom. If not, you might can back trace it though the registration numbers on the boat. That number stays with that boat from now on, no matter who is it belongs to. You can also apply for lost title, but not sure about that procedure.
B.O.A.T= Bust out another thousand. All the boats that I have owned or currently own the VIN, is riveted to the transom or etched into the gelcoat on the transom, only other place I can think to look is tucked up underneath the cap where the steering tiller is? Not much help I know, good luck though.

lmao.. thats pretty good.. i have looked all across the transom. i cant see or feel anything.i will look more tomorrow. the lady at the dmv said all i need is a bill of sale which has to have the vin, make, year, make and model motor, s/n trailer size, year too. the trailer has a tag that says 1972
Be careful with that stick steer. It takes some getting used to.that boat is made like the old Powercat boats.Good luck and never jump out of a boat to cool off without a life jacket.
DMV is typically the trailer you are registering. The boat is registered through a different state agency, typically fish/game commision. It i a double jeapordy deal.... I had a 72 star craft that the boat vin was inside, on what would be the passenger side in a car, above the rear seat. Good luck, and happy floating.

everything is registered through the dmv here. we dont have to register the trailer though.
