Had dealer service the truck last week in which they chanced the oil and rotated tires and filled the DEF tank, all at 6000 miles. Two days latter my low tire pressure message went off so I check the tire pressure and found 15 lbs low on the front and 25 lbs low on the rear. So I check the invoice for the service to see if they checked the tire pressure at the service and it said the tech had. So WTF? Then I saw that I paid for 15 qts. of oil in which I knew the 6.7 only takes 13 with the filter change so I checked the oil level to find it 2 qts. over filled. So I take the truck back to the dealer and have to wait another 2 hrs. for them to fill the tires to the proper pressure and reset the low tire pressure on the dash and drain 2 qts of oil. So far so good. Next day the "low tire warning goes off again so it's back to the dealer where they have to retrain the wheel sensors to the computer. OK again so far so good. Today message center goes off with "max 55 mph speed in 194 miles" so back to the dealer where the tech puts on the laptop but can't find any problem so he resets the computer and sends me on my way. 2 hours latter message comes on "max 55 mph speed in 194 miles" and "contaminated DEF tank" so tomorrow I will make my 6 trip back in 4 days. Anyone know what we're looking at here? I mean besides some pretty dumb service techs.
Sorry to hear about your troubles. Can you tell us who the dealer is?
I really don't want to say until we get all of this straightened out and I can give them a full report card. I will say the dealer is in the Lancaster WNY area.
Ask the dealer to lower the TPMS threshold to 55 psi...that will eliminate the warning message unless you are really getting a low tire...some dealers balk at doing it though...
The DEF message is likely part of the cold weather/bad sensor issue. The repair is supposed to be released the end of the month.
I got my def system replaced the day the cold weather bulletin came out and I haven't had any trouble. I had waited since dec 1 for a redesign. Do you think the fix thats coming is different than what I have?
Sorry to hear about your issues, but you said somethign that sparked a question for me as a new 2011 owner. Are you saying that if you get a low tire which triggers the TPMS low air sensor and you get a dash message that you HAVE to go back to the dealer to reset this warning? Simply putting air back in the tire will not reset the sensor??????
You do not need to return to a dealer to reset the TPMS alert but you do get a dash message and a dash light.
You put air in the tire and drive a few miles, it will turn off.
In a rare case, you'll have to work through the retrain procedure.
We had to go back to the dealer to retrain the sensors because after the dealer adjusted the air pressure and I drove it around for a day but the dash message still wouldn't go out. Don't know if that the way it always works but it was in my case. The truck is still in the dealers for the 2nd day for the message of 55mph limit in 190 miles. They said they are having an NOX sensor ( what ever this might be) sent over night as that seems to be the problem causing the malfunction. Seems there is a service bulletin out for this problem.

Pick up truck Friday and the dealer assured that the problem with the message limited 55mph and contaminated DEF where repaired with the changeing of the NOX sensor. It seems to be working *** the trick as the message has not reapeared in the last 200 miles of driving. I hope its fine, i'm sure we;ll see'
