To the worn bearings question, oh my god yes! These things are 35 years old, most of their brothers were junked decades ago, anything being worn out is common at this point. The only things that I've found can usually survive (untouched) this long with normal use on these trucks is the NP205 T cases.
Might have found a good one finally. Some assembly required but comes with a pile of parts. 79 250, NP 435, 205, d44/d60, rebuilt engine/tranny/T-case(for real this time), new clutch/starter/carb/headers/4 core rad/brakes all the way around, no bed but I can get one fairly easily. Has 3 dash trims, 4 clusters(2 100 mph ones), extra hood, 2 extra doors, 3 dashes, extra original engine/clutch/flywheel. I couldn't find any rust on the cab, fenders, hood, or core support. He filled in the cab light holes but they will be re-opened. Possibly comes with a set of 8 lug aluminum slots.
Ohhhh OK OK so that rebuilt engine and trans and all are all in it already! Wow, well you really may be scoring then, if you're still close to your asking price.
