as of late I have started to notice a slight "bump" in the steering wheel, when turning slowly ...not all the time though...(level ground)
if you put your hand on the center pad where the airbag goes (while you are driving) and hit small bumps you can feel the centerpad "bump"
it sort of feels like that, and I thought maybe that the centerpad was moving around a little...
just wondering if anyone else has had this...
Not familiar with the column set-up on the F-150's. Does it have tilt? If so, is it locked into position? May seem obvious, it happened on the wife's car. Flipped the lever to move the wheel for better angle, but didn't re-lock it in position.
As rb48f6 said, but if not bring it into the dealer and have them check
1) The tightness of the u-joints at the end of the steering column. If lose the column can bind and get the feedback at the wheel you're describing.
2) The inner and outer tie rods (which normally the complaint is different).
3) The tightness of the bolts securing the rack itself (again, normally the complaint is different than what you're describing).
4) if a brake caliper slide isn't hanging (the old version of the truck would warp the rotors and eventually the slides would wear allowing the caliper to **** and "clunk" as the caliper got unstuck sometime after the brakes were released).
