Back again for "The Clunk"........
Well it's been 300 miles since Ford applied their "special grease" and put on clamps to eliminate the clunk when slowing and the slipping feeling at take off. Now the clunk is back. Every time at 25 it downshifts and clunks, then once again at 10. Drives me nuts. My service advisor wants me to "log" these visits so we can be more aggressive with Ford to get this resolved. I love the truck, but this is annoying driveline slop. Almost like the splines weren't cut right and Ford is using heavy grease to fill the gaps......developing

Don't know what grease they are using other than "special Ford grease". They mentioned that the "slipping sensation" was due to the slack. I plan to find out more from the mechanic tomorrow!! I'll post what they tell me since I know I'm not alone with this problem......

this has been a long going concern, done alot of packing in the past. I used to be a FOMOCO Senior Master Tech. before 5/07, then got tired of the dealership B/S and went offshore to work on Cooper slow speed gas compressors, only work 1/2 yr. for more money, beats flat rate. , good luck, FoMoFun, it's just a nusiance.
