Today I ripped out thhe interior of my truck to assess the damage done to the floorboards, and I was originally going to replace the carpet. However, the carpet is in really good shape except for a few oil/grease stains. I would like to clean and reuse it, but only if the stains are removeable. Any suggestions?
BTW, where's the best place to get two new floorbaords?
Get some Castrol Super Clean, and a pair of rubber gloves, and a stiff nylon bristle brush. Wet down the carpet, spray on cleaner, put on gloves, and scrub. Rinse, repeat until the stains are sufficiently gone.
Or you could go out and buy a hot water extractor, but the cheapest one will run you over $600 easy.
If you don't feel comfortable doing it, call your local ServiceMaster, or carpet cleaning company, and have them quote you...they can also scotch guard it...
