I dont know...is this a good addiction or a bad one. Can get very expensive, eat up all of your time and you find yourself thinking of trucks when you should be focused on something else. Taking large amounts of time away from your family.
Or worse yet...honey I've had that hood, fender and bed for along time now and it did not just appear. I'm gonna sell this axle and make money, no problem everyone wants one of these.
I just bought my first dent, a 79 F100 with the 300. Has just under 53k original documented miles. All registrations dating back to when it was new, and the original owners manual. Only problem is either the first or second MFPO stripped out the PCV system on it causing oil to blow out everywhere. They even discarded the original air cleaner for a tiny little Mr. Gasket 5" "performance" job. Tomorrow after I get her registered I'm gonna be walking the junk yards with a bag of tools in hopes of finding a 300 I can get the entire PCV/Air induction system off of. Good luck with your new one man!!
Didn't realize it when I was talking to you earlier but it looks a lot like that truck has a dana 60 in the front, judging by the hub size. There's about $1000 value right there.
IMO I would rebuild the 300. They are almost indestructable and very reliable. If you want so performance mods, look up clifford performance. They specialize in 6cyl motors.
