I sure like the look of the Recon strips. On their website they have two lengths and two different lighting styles.
Did you have to get 4 of the shorter ones because of the center step support??
How about the wiring? Did you use the strip that have two colored LEDs?
The power source for the amber running lights would seem straightforward enough, but what about the source for the white LEDs that light when the doors open or the key fob is used, where'd that connect?
Good looking truck!

Tom
Thanks for the compliments. The light bars are the 62" amber only. It looks like there are 2 on each side due to the center step support. The light bars fit very nicely behind the step support. I ran the wiring above the fender liner over the front wheels to the side marker light circuit.
The light bars light up the step bars very well without the white LED's. The parking lights turn on when you use the remote to unlock the doors anyways, so they are lit whenever the doors are open.
How are the wires routed to the headrests? I'm about to install some headrests and was curious how this was done. I'm installing an inverter as well so trying to plan the routing before the units arrive.
Dixoncity, the light bar was fairly easy to install. The only thing I didn't like was drilling holes for the mounting screws. They are in the pinch weld under the doors. A little paint on the back side to seal them and it will be fine.
I went a different route with my Recon light bar. I used 3M double sided molding tape to hold it on. For additional security, I used black tie wraps in the open holes in the pinch weld. I wasn't happy with the thought of drilling 10 holes in my pinch weld.

Thanks!
The wires come pre-routed through the headreast posts. From there, I routed them under the seats to the back of the center console. The back comes off fairly easy. That's where I mounted the control box. The only wires you need to hook to the control box is power and ground. I grounded it under the driver seat and used upfitter #3 for power. Just routed the wire from the control box, under the sill plate trim to the upfitter wire. Works perfectly, kids are happy and the parents keep their sanity on long trips!
