Accesory wiring question

I have a flash light i want to hard wire, but i don't want it getting power all the time, Id like to have it so it would only charge when the truck is on. Has anyone done anything like this yet to their truck with anything?

Not sure I've seen anyone try that but all you need to do is find a fuse that only powers when the key is on (switched) and tap it.

Not sure about the available wires under the dash but there are many switched posts available in half of the main fuse block. The entire second half which is closest to the engine firewall is switched. There a a few unused posts available in there. It is also very close to a firewall access hole.

if you go on amazon and search fuse tap there are several items that you could use. you can get them at auto parts stores also, amazon just allows you to see it so you have a little more idea what you need when you go to get one. one wire goes to the fuse tap and the other to a good ground.
