Well new to me. I've never owned anything that was less than 10 years old. Must be old age setting in, or getting tired of workin on everything I own.....
So after some searching and test driving, I down sized to 2007 Ranger.
I'm still getting used to the enclosed feeling when I'm driving it but it's more truck than I expected. Gettin dirty was kinda fun..
I like the tonneau cover pretty slick. I don't see how the camper is going to fit on it though, probably be using a lot of angle iron or something, maybe even some training wheels
Just kidding Frank, nice looking rig, how many clicks and is it an auto or manual?
The camper? I could park this thing inside the camper and still get to the fridge! LOL
Although now that I think about it,... I may be able to tow this behind the camper,...hmmm , need more thought and creativity but doable.
The mileage was hi at 190k but it was reflected in the price, I couldn't find much reason not to buy it. Price , condition, options all out weighed the milege. Hopefully nothing major falls off in the near future.
It's a 5speed manual, which took forever to find, I guess auto's outnumber the manuals 3 or 4 to 1 from what i saw.
The tonneau cover I came across on kijiji while shopping for the truck. I bought the truck and then went and got the cover which was luckily still available. I couldn't resist the cover, it's great. It will hold 1600lbs, they are used a lot to haul ATVs.
We'll have to get together and get off road. I took a couple of short trips through a field/construction site and quickly realized that this would be better as a team sport. Just a question of time before you break something or find a jam you can't get out of. Nice to have someone else around.
In the mean time I'll try and get used to the small cab.
I only see one big problem with towing the Ranger,
Behind the SuperCab, other drivers will want to get a closer look at it while it's driving down the road and that tends to make them kinda swerve towards you as they're driving beside you trying to look and drive at the same time.
I must say thou the SuperCab with the camper in the bed, towing the little Ranger behind it would be a site to see but I'm pretty sure anyone that sees it and gets what it is will be either following you to ask questions or you'll have a trail of kids following you because they think you have the best toy ever, remember the kid at last years show that took a liking to your truck and camper combo? Or as I like to call him the future owner
