Explorer starting issue

I've a 1996 Explorer 5.0. The truck will start once with good cranking power. But then when I shut it off and try to start it again it just clicks? I have charged the battery and it's good.

Any advice?

Does it click one time or is it a series of clicks? How much time elapses between when you start the engine and when you shut it off and try to start it again? Does it always work this way, or might it go several times starting fine and only act up once in awhile?

The more details you can provide, the better chance the folks on this forum will have on helping you narrow the issue down quickly.

Check and clean all battery and ground connections.

Check battery volt before start, 12.6vdc fully charged
Check battery volt while starting, >10.2vdc returning to >12vdc after key off (no run).

14.3vdc +/- charging..
