351w motor mount question

I put motor mounts on my Ford 351w crate motor while it's still on the engine stand. I noticed that both motor mounts are identical, no left and right, and one side of the mounting bracket that bolts to the block is longer than the other side. So when I mounted them to the block the longer part on the driver's side is towards the rear and the passenger side towards the front. Consequently the motor mounts are slightly offset from each other. Is that normal?

Yes that's normal, there is difference of about an inch. Interestingly, in a custom application they will work either way.
