I know this is part of my carb, has something to do with the choke plate. My choke is wide open now, What I'm needing is the name for this part and if/where I can get a replacement.
BTW this is off a stock Holley carb from a '75 F250 with a 390 motor
I'll take a stab at what the part is. Based on your description and what it looks like, it looks like a cam that holds the choke shut until the electric choke opens.
Two more things to check. On page 4 of the manual you posted on the bottom picture the line goes to the arm on the "choke plate" is that missing on your carb and could it have been plastic?
Also, on page 5, bottom picture, there is an orange plastic looking part. Is that in place on your carb?
I don't have any Holleys on my junk and am not really familiar with them, so just guessing here.
My carb is an auto choke. I'm thinking Husker is right about the cam. I guess when I get time I'm off to salvage the part, if I can find one. If not I guess I'll invest in a new carb.
You might also keep your eye out for a edelbrock 600 cfm used. That would probably work great on a 390 unless you are really pushing high rpm's or power.
Nope, no high rpm's or power.. With gas prices the way they are, I idle just about everywhere I go. If the beast sees anything above 40 mph right now it's a miracle.
I just happen to have a 600cfm edelbrock 4bbl if you'd want it. Electric choke worked great. Could use a good cleanin, but worked good. Not sure how far away you are, but it's kinda hard to ship carbs that have had gas in them. At least through UPS anyway. I'd let it go for $75.00

Considering that I have seen new ones go for $400-$600+ that's a deal.
I'm up in Atchison... about 3 1/2 hours away... Someone's gotta protect the state from them crazy Nebraskans... My wife has a conference coming up in Wichita, I'll have to check the dates, maybe I'll be able to pick it up.. I'll let you know.
