distributer hold down nut..?

Is it just me or does my 1995 300 not have a distributer hold down screw? I spent about 5 minutes searching for the thing, but couldnt find it! Is it not possible to adjust the base timing without ecu modifications?

There is indeed a distributer hold down bolt, right at the base of the distributer where the casting goes into the block. The base timing is adjustable.

If you're standing at the driver's fender looking at the distributor, the bolt is at the 10:00 position.

distributer hold down nut..?

thanks guys!

I can't believe i missed it... it had a thick layer of muck on it, but it was still visible. I think it was hidden by the big wire casing laying on top of it

Anyways, i set the timing forward about 2.5 degrees. It would run fine with no knock at about 5 degrees advanced, but i didn't go any further in fear of blowing up my engine.

Thing has a noticible increase in power. It's actually a very noticible difference in power. I am very happy.
