Hey guys, I don't know if anyone else has heard about this, but I was watching the news earlier, and the protests/riots in the Middle East have spread to Saudi Arabia. Shortly after I saw the story, my dad called and told me that due to the protesting/rioting in Saudi Arabia, gas prices are expected to jump to $6.00 a gallon tomorrow. So I went and filled up, just in case. Now, as of yet, I haven't been able to find any solid information about it, but I figured I'd let you guys know anyway. Better to be safe than sorry...

Haven't you been told,Dont believe everything you see on the TV

I most definitely don't believe everything I see on TV, but I have found Fox News Channel to be rather reliable in the past.. But, think outside the box for a moment. The price of gas has increased by like forty something cents over the past month due to speculation about what's going on in countries like Libya, Egypt, Yemen, Jordan... What do you think is gonna happen when those speculators start spit-balling about instability in Saudi Arabia, the world's largest exporter of oil?

The speculators have more impact on gas prices than anything else. They drive up the price of oil, and the oil companies respond by jacking up the cost of gas that's already produced.......
I wonder where the line is. There has to be a point where people can't even drive to work, which would practically shut down the economy to the point that it can't just start right back up.

$4/gallon was the magic point last year where people starting getting REALLY upset and
the economy as a whole suffered (and the Ford pickup truck succumbed to a Toyota
model as the nation's #1-selling vehicle). I'll be surprised if it gets much above that, at
least for the time being.

wouldnt a socialist system want that? i would think so, then they could give you money and tell you how to use it, here is some money for heat, here is some money for food.. welfare state of nation.
I don't worry about gas prices. There's nothing I can do about it. The truck needs gas to get me where I need to go, so be it. Granted I can squeeze by for 3-4 weeks between fill ups if I don't go anywhere but work and running local errands. I can do 2-3 weeks on 4.5 gals if I take the bike instead of the truck.
It really doesn't matter as most of my fuel use is in my boat which I'll go through 40+ gallons for a day on the water. For about 6 months of the year I try to get out 1-2 times a week. 454 is thirsty. I figure It'll be upwards of $30/hr to run the boat this summer just in fuel. You only get one trip, so might as well enjoy it.
The really sad thing is we could bring the oil speculators and companies to their knees if we'd all only stay home for one weekend a each month....it would cause enough of a spike in supply to drive the prices through the floor. Of course, the problem is nobody wants to do it.....
Im sorry, I really try to stay out of conversations like these, keeps my blood presure down(why I dont go to the supporter forums), but this almost made me waste good beer...

Funniest damn thing I've seen in a while...
If you ignore the religious slant and neocon ranting they're pretty decent. Kind of like if you watch the other networks and ignore the fascist and socialist nonsense.
