For a mild drop, you need to buy 3" dropped I-beams for the front. If you try to use springs up front the caster will be hideous.
For the back shackles and hangers will work. This is waht I'm going to do. For more radical drops, you will need to put in a mustang II style ifs from the aftermarket. Very costly. Hope this helps.

Save your $$ and put it into the engine, and if you need body work do that first, I was going to lower my 77 F-100, too much $$ and you are risking handleing problems, unless you spend alot of $$ on nice products and parts. If I were you I would use that $ for a nice set of wheels and tires, depending on what you like, I would go for fat in the back , stock in the front, go to the wheelshop and ask them if they have any tire and wheel packages, or if they would be willing to work with you to get the right price for your deal. I would go with 60's series in the back (or bigger) and same size as stock wheels in the front. Good luck

no problem, I was in your position... I decided to go on here and ask also, I came up with ( performance first) and then make it look good.

Why must so many people bash lowered trucks. Some guys like them high in the sky, and others like them as a daily driver comfort and for the sport look. I think the trucks look equally as good high and low. If you don't have any help to post, dont post at all.

I have a lower 78 F100 and i think its great. I actually have a stock set of beams with shorter springs to lower it. The beams were adjusted at a real good alignment shop to bring the camber into spec. The truck drive great and handle as well or better than both of my past stock height trucks. The only problem with doing it this way is bumpy roads. The truck doesn't have a ton of downward travel, but if you watch how you drive, it's fine. Good luck!
