so I have a few questions about these convers vans, How do you determine what brand of conversion I have?
2. what kind of tie down do you have for your chair? as this van had none. and the VA will not help me cuz the van is to old. which makes no sense to me. so I have a 1" ratchet strap holding it back against the rear seat. it works but for me it going to be an issue hooking up the strap as I cannot bend over well. I want to be able to do this with on persons helping me.
3. As far as the TV/DVD systems, can a car stereo shop work on these and get it wired properly and working? if no where should I take it to?

Do a web search for EZ Lock Wheelchair System, as that is the most common restraint system. You'll need to install a bracket that holds a receiving bolt. The locking device is installed on the vans floor. It's electronically controlled. You might want to start another thread on this topic.

anyway. that mobility dealer advised me that the EZ Lock system is $5000. alone plus installation. out of my price range. but now I have a brand name and will look around. looks like EZ lock wants you to go to a mobility dealer

That dealer way out there. The cost of a new EZ Lock is less than 2,000.00 the last time I checked. They can be had on eBay for around $300.00 in new or like new condition. And there's no magic required to install one, pretty standard installation. What kind of chair do you use, power or manual?

My chair is a Pride Quantum Q-6 Edge, a nice chair but heavy weighs 375#.

The only negatives about the EZ Lock docking system are that the bracket that the bolt (or pin) is fixed to (attaches to wheelchair) is made of steel and can be quite heavy, not really a concern with a power chair, but it is on light weight manual chairs. And the bolt can snag objects because it pretty close to the ground, given that most powerchairs don't have much ground clearance to begin with.
