When I was a little green with working on 6.0Ls years back, I remember installing the drain tube incorrectly. THAT made a HUGE mess. Thankfully, the F*** UP FAIRY hasn't bit me in years, when working on these things.

Hey Cheezit and PatMac6.0....do you know what thread size the EOP sender is?

I am going to install an EOP sender for a gauge and wanted to Tee off of that point. I wanted to get the parts together before I disassemble.

The 6.0 Bible shows a test port on the front of the oil cooler but I can't even see it under all the other stuff over it, so I was going with the other spot for ease of install.

Thanks

It's a 7/16-20 bolt thread. That's why it's o-ringed. It might be difficult to find an adapter to screw into that hole without manufacturing one or retapping the hole to pipe thread.

I used an adaptor and a length of 300 psi hydraulic hose to reach over to the passenger side battery area where there is some room to work. I used a "T" threaded to the hose to accommodate the Ford sender and a Westberg oil pressure sender and gauge installed in an "A" pillar pod. I had to extend the wire to reach the new location for the Ford sender. I used a 1/2" all thread rod secured to the battery tray to mount the "T". Oil pressure is 60psi @ road speeds, 20 psi at hot idle and pegged at cold start up.
Hmmm.....new issues. Now I'm totally cornfuzed. So npccpartsman what size is the test port on the oil cooler? Might have to go that route.

I don't know about the test port as I don't have one anymore since I have the bulletproof block. I do know about the sending unit because I had to measure it for someone else and just checked my old one to verify. You might do a little searching or wait for some more comments. There have been lots of different ways this has been done.

Have you ever connected a test gauge to it? is it not at all like the test port on the fuel filter housing that we connect fuel pressure senders to? Sounds to me like I'm gonna have to crank up the lathe and make some adapters.....

The picture in the 6.0 bible looks like that test port has a plastic cover over it like it is a quick connect fitting. Maybe kinda like an air hose quick connect ? Does that sound rediculous?

Can you post a pic of it or am I taking this too far....just curious

I think I found it......

Ford Motorcraft 303-765 High Pressure Pump Test Adapter

It looks like the adapter for the fuel pressure test port. Maybe it's the same M12 size.

no it looks different. it maybe the same thread pitch that screws in to the housing. the storm fitting that hooks up to it looks like an air chuck fitting.
