ok i have a 90 bronco,5.0 efi 4x4 w an aod trans.my trans just isnt cooperating ,,Soo,i want to know if i got one from the auto recycler ,if i pulled one say from a crown vic will it go on my transfer case if i just pull off the tail piece or do i have to take parts from the bad tranny
We are all trying to help but need some more information. What if your transmission just needs a little help? Like Kem, who is one of the best, provide more facts please and you may not have to swap.
Reading the whole ? is irrelevant with his suggestion. Why replace the whole thing if all you need to do is adjust the tv cable? As far as your question, no you can't just take the tail shaft off and bolt up a tcase. In order to to do what your saying you have to tear the entire tranny down, which at that point why not just get one made for a 4x4?
the AOD stopped being mass produced for the bronco after 89. you can go find an AOD out of a 4wd and swap it in there but my guess is you dont even have an AOD thats why i asked those questions. installing the incorrect tranny in there will cause some issues in so many ways.
