FTE member dro man wondered why the smilie showed up when he typed that long list of part numbers.
When typing part numbers that have an 8 and D together, if the smilie function isn't disabled, you get this:

The PCM and HEC will need to be hooked to Ford software (IDS) and a parameter reset preformed to enable a restart.
99-2001 Mustang PCM’s are compatible, but as for as a 2003 with 99, not sure which type system it (2003) uses. (Type C or Type E)
99-01 uses type C

Hybrid Electronic Cluster
It is a microprocessor, an integral part of the cluster that communicates, links, talks, with the PCM.
The PCM has to receive a valid / programmed key signal from the Hec before it (PCM) will allow a fuel pulse and on some models starter interrupt. The transceiver, mounted around the key, sends a signal to the HEC , the HEC then sends, multiplexes, a valid key code on the network to the PCM, circuits 914 and 915 the twisted pair of wires.

Droman - I'm in desperate need of help. I've been troubleshooting a poor fuel economy problem on a NEW engine with mostly NEW parts including the PCM for 16 months now.

I too have an ECM issue. I read that if I post the numbers off the door of my Bronco II you can tell me the right ECM for the rig so here goes......

ECM
I have a 1988 Ford F150 and need the ECM part number, I have been struggling to get it out. The sticker on the door was gone when I bought the truck but the VIN is 1FTEX14H5JKA35775. Have been having some idling issues, surging at a stop, thinking it is the ecm - when I try to find a replacement there are so many. Called a ford dealership and they said it was too old to run the VIN and give me the numbers, this is my only vehicle trying to get it running good again.

89 F250 VIN 1FTHF26HXKNA44359 My truck has an ECM #E8TF-12A650-AT1B and I am not sure it's the correct one. Anybody know how to look it up?
