I was wondering if it would be possible to put an ext cab on my truck, the green one in the picture, that is if they even made ext cabs. The only thing I dont like about doing it is my bed has a toolbox built in and I havent seen very many like it.
Anything is possible if you throw enough money at it.
Lets look at it like this, the wheel base is existing (distance from cl front axle to cl rear axle) add a larger cab is gonna require a shorter bed to work is that space.
Short answer no. Why don't you use the cab chassis that you have?
Its just more of a what if idea than anything. I would like to use my cab to keep it original, but where I work requires me to keep a change of clothes and other equipment in the cab with me, plus I carpool with a fellow coworker. Just a little added space would be nice. So I was just wondering if it would be a possibility to swap cabs and shorten the bed.
I wish I didn't have the replacement cab for mine, every since I seen a picture of a 72 ford supercab I have wanted it. The cab looked like he used a supercab dent and converted it to a bump. He used a 95 ish ford supercab long box frame with a powerstroke, five speed, 4X4 for his creation.
I have since decided that this is going to be my next project after the 67 sort of. I am going to use a f250 with the divorced transfer case reg cab long box, put a 75 supercab on it then shorten the box as needed. I can use whatever engine/trans I want. Kicking around a late model police cruiser for power train donnation, or maybe a v10 5 speed but I have a little time to think about it. The 67 first but that isn't stopping me from collecting parts for it.
There were crewcabs made in these years, no supercabs or extended cabs. Anything is possible, just a matter of how much fabrication you are able/willing to do.
The only thing better than a bumpside Ford in our year model range is the crewcab models...the perfect truck, twice as much cab space to carry more dogs, buds, beverages, firepower and wenches.

I am willing. 'got a 71 LB lined up to start a fabricated crewcab conversion. I've been looking high and low in CA and can't find one... figured I might as well make one. 'don't wanna get one out of state cuz it's a PITA and doing so incurs a $300 fee for "importing" an out of state vehicle.
The plan is a EFI 460, TKO 5-speed, AC, PS, PB, PW, and PL
