Taking the plunge

With all the help on this forum, and my wife finally making up her mind...and of course dealer persuasion. We have decided to order our new Fifth wheel camper (they sold the only one we liked on the lot). It is the Heartland Greystone 33ck. Here is a link to the same one. RV Inventory : Heartland RV Greystone 33CK (TRUFFLE) West Boylston Massachusetts | 2011 Fifth Wheel, Flagg RV Center

I so cant wait to get rolling down the roads in this thing, and actually have a space for the kids. I will be sure to stop at the first CAT scale when it we pick it up to get all those weights everyone loves to read. Of course I am gonna want to know too.

Well I have the HUSKY 16K slider hitch already that I bought with our first fifth wheel. Never let me down yet. The manufacture list the king pin weight at 2,165lbs, gvwr 13,920lbs.

The tag on the hitch says MAX VERTICAL LOAD 4000LBS.... also the under bed mount system (pics are in my gallery).

4K is a good number as well. Couldn't recall if you had mentioned the number. I asked because the pin wt they told and what you will actually have will be different but I feel that you will fall in the range as everyone else and be just fine.

I think you did your homework and it will be a great ride.

Very nice 5th wheel. It took me a while to realize what I was looking at with the mini fridge on the counter top. Then I finally realized that was OUTSIDE. Nice!

My family and I have officially been 5th wheel campers for 1 year come April. We have put about 6k miles on it and we absolutely LOVE it. My 6 year old daughter and 7 year old son are constantly asking when the next camping trip is.

thanks, we are just waiting to hear back on financing. But we love the layout. It will be nice to have a place for the kids, more so because one is still in a playpen. It sucks having all the kids stuff in the living/dining/kitchen area all the time, then at night the wife and I get stuck in our bedroom. Now we can put them to bed and close the door. The outside kitchen is nice to, will come in very handy when prepping food for the grille, and the little fridge will be filled with "drinks"....
