I hate to see a simple question like this get ignored.

You will either have a 1-3... or a 1-5... firing order. Most likely, with it being a 351,it will have a 1-3... order, but someone could have put a 302 cam in it and it may have a 1-5...

The easiest way to check is to pull the 1, 3, and 5 plugs and put your thumb over them as you turn the motor over (get a freind to help). If the 5 blows first after number one then it is the 1-5 order. Otherwise it is the standard 351 order.

1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 = 351 or 302 HO

1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 = 302

Thats your firing order. Drop the distributor in with #1 at TDC and rotor pointing to #1. Leave just loose enough to turn distributor with a "little" effort. Somewhere around 8-10 degrees BTDC and it'll fire up. Fine tuning comes after breaking in the cam.
