Ouchh...well, don't feel bad, I ruined the sensor by bumping it too hard..I hit my head against the wall too a few times. the link at the top of the page has the sensor..there goes eighty bucks, there's a half tank of diesel, I'm sure somebody can help you find that piece it screws into. Unfortunatley to replace it you'll have to undo the two bolts that hold it up, which also seals up against the hpop I believe? Maybe I'm wrong. Somebody will correct me. I know there is sealant behind the plate your piece is connected too though. Good luck on your trip, and your truck should be fine. I'm a day without it now and its been good. Mpgs has increased regardless.

Lol amen. If anythings going to happen it'll happen to me. Oh well, won't make the mistake again. I'm interested to feel and see the difference when I get the sensor back in. Maybe it'll have even more. Nothing like wishful thinking. And I'm definitly not putting the sensor back in because of somebodys opinion, I just feel much safer with everything in place, i'd rather just be safe.

 

I know that feeling. I'll keep an eye on stuff, but i can't wait til I get that thing back in. I don't like not having sensors on my truck.

 

Yes that's exactly it, I don't like not having all my sensors in place. Plus it helps rule out a lot of things if anything happened. When I get my tax money back gauges will assist as well

 

One of the things I have noticed however, is that the glow plug light only stays on for the minimal amount of time. Regardless of temperature outside or whether the engine is hot or cold. I know the light is just something to draw power off my battery and realistically has nothing to do with the glow plugs, just is set on a timer from the pcm, I believe I read on here somewhere anywa, regardless, it doesn't stay on very long at all. However, I have definitly noticed that the truck starts one hundred percent better then it did in chilly weather. Its ten outside and the truck has set for 12 hours, I just went out and fired it up to hear it growl, and it started like I just got done driving it. Could this be because the sensor was going bad? The tube was plugged? A mix of both? I guess I'll know when the sensor gets here. Just some side notes and stuff I've noticed. I'm sure others have noticed all of this before anyway, but I'm not familiar with what the sensor entirely controls, but the pcm must draw some information from this sensor to tell the gp light how long to stay on.
