You know the drill - a little oil leak, older faded "eggshell white" paint and you've got permanent stains.
Anybody know how to get these nasty stains off my tailgate without using sandpaper? I'm hoping somebody has got a magic solution that they've used from Napa / Billy-bob's or whomever.
The stains are from a little bit of oil leak, a little bit of tranny leak during the past 1 1/2 years....
Go to a parts store that handles 3M products, which should be almost everybody, buy some Finess It II and the recommended pad for use with it, and buff the stain. I realize you don't want to sand it, but you could sand it with 1500 grit and soapy water, then buff with the above product. If the truck has thinning paint you could get into the primer, so be careful.
