Hahaha, I'm sitting here drinking mine as we type! no worries and good luck...I peeled as much off with my hands as I could, while watching a movie, then relaxed. I know I will be pulling the IC tubes several more times at some point in the future for other mods so idk how much work I want to do getting every little spot of glue off. Plus I plan on painting them at some point. Hope yours goes well...

I'll be painting mine as well, I found it as an 80 yr old gent and his wife were upgrading to a big motorhome, he ordered new in 99, put a camper on and used it for trips from NJ to Michigan, it spent most of its life in a barn !

It was 99.9% perfect, tires were cracked and had scrapes on the fenders from driving under the camper..otherwise, showroom condition, the find of a lifetime, it was my lucky day

Depends on who you ask. Some folks think fiberglass is as bad as asbestos.

I don't. No worries.

It's like the household insulation. I didn't use gloves because it's too hard to grip the stuff to pull it off. I used pliers for the foil, and paint stripper from Home Depot for the glue and fuzzies. It took two rounds of stripper and emory cloth but it came off. And don't worry about a dent in the tube. It's suppose to be there.

I just did mine Tuesday. Looked like it was just a white fiberglass insulation.

BTW we used a wire wheel on a cordless drill to get the sticky stuff off. Spraying with WD-40 helped alot!

I used a wire wheel on my 4.5" angle grinder. After peeling off the foil itself, the insulation and glue came off in 10 mins with the wire wheel. I would recommend this method.

anyone who thinks fiberglass is as bad as asbestos is terribly misinformed....I don't see how one can draw that conclusion.....

well i just got the weekend project finished up...plenum inserts w new boots to the spider, hpx, and foil delete. I just peeled the foil and insulation off by hand and threw it back on, i'll get to stripping and painting some other time.

Mike, that looks great! I hadn't considered painting the spider too, I like a lot!
