Anybody care to share where a good place is for quality valve extensions for my rear insides on a F350 duallie, so I can check pressures and add air w/o removing the outside wheels?
get them from a big truck shop..had too many problems with the after market car stores..water/ice gets into them and lets the air leak out of the tire..
I just want to throw this out there for ya'. Watch out for extensions like this. In my 8 years of selling tires and big truck tire work, these extensions are about 80% bad news. A couple of things to look out for, 1) with the force of tire rotation, they will work themselves loose and start to leak. 2) if you get into deep mud or heavy snow, it is possible that you may snap them in half. 3) it is just simply one more threaded area that may leak over time.
If you feel you must use them, be sure to get the kind that some how fasten themselves to the outer wheel, whether that be a bracket that fastens onto a lug stud or the handhole plug adapter. And also like previously stated, buy a good quality extension, they have a much better oring.
Yes I was just hoping someone knew of a vendor with just such extensions that attach to the outers, I know they're available I just haven't been able to find them readily available in my area.
I always ordered all of my shop stock from www.MyersTireSupply.com from a catalog. You may be able to order online? Check out their great supply of extension stabilizers at Tire Valve Accessories
Avoid the rubber ones. Try to go for the aeroquip ones. I second the opinion that snow and mud are a bear on these and cause many a new tire to be ruined.
