wow, fellas. What are y'all biching about? Really? I say, for a photo op OR in competition, let the coal roll. Driving around on city streets, back of the tuning to keep from blowing smoke on people. Geez.. It's not that hard to drive around town without blowing that smoke, but if you want to perform at the drag strip or on the sled track, I'm sorry, your going to have a tune that will blow a little smoke. People will say that Gale Banks races without smoke, but Gale Banks also has 8 nitrous solenoids hanging out in front of his engine, we don't. Reason his doesn't smoke= lots of nitrous, tiny turbos..
Stavey, I hate you for posting that picture. LMFAO. That is the absolute dumbest thing I have ever seen. Why someone would do that on purpose, I cannot figure out.
how is that even possible when these trucks are running a minimum of 33s?
Here, I'm sick but braved the outside world to take a couple measurements at the LOWEST point of the diff, front and rear where applicable. These are all the trucks I have at my house to measure...
'86 XJ - 2" lift on 29's = Dana 30/35 combo right around 8.75"

That's fine if you're at a track or just doing it for a picture, away from people. I'm talking about the guys that do it at stoplights and such because they think it looks cool. It's a bad image.

A few years back I was running to pick up parts with a buddy. Due to the distance I took a car instead of a truck to save money on gas. We were stopped at a light and up comes some kids in a SD diesel... When the light turned green they literally filled my car up with so much smoke I had to wait for my car to clear to drive off. It's funny looking at it now, but come on, if it was anyone else who DID care, WTF then? Why is it always a couple of a-holes that ruin it for everyone else?

'86 XJ - 2" lift on 29's = Dana 30/35 combo right around 8.75"
'81 F-150 2wd - stock height on 235/75/15's (only measured the rear) = 9" axle a hair under 7"
'95 F-150 2wd - stock height on 235/75/15's (again on rear) = 8.8 axle a hair under 8"
The main difference is differential size/shape.
yes your jeep has more ground clearance and it sucks you measured them while being sick. but seriously, WHO CARES? im just sayin when i look at a truck i dont say "man i wonder how much ground clearance that thing has." plus im not wheeling a full size truck and im sure the trucks i posted arent either. no flame intended...
its kinda weird that the two 2wds are different ground clearance's though

Hey man, that's fine what you notice in a truck. However, I do off road and ground clearance is something that I do notice.
As for the 2wds, it just comes down to the 9" sitting lower than the 8.8.

i mean when i see a truck, i look at the color, body, wheels and tires. i also attempt to guess the amount of lift. full size truck wheelin isnt too big around here in our town. but plenty of hooked up jeeps!
headlights are finally on! really want some grid clear bumper lights but o well. and im wrestling the interior, im really starting to hate the dark grey. i will never find parts for it!! interior pics tomorrow
