Howdy John and Plomero, I think you'll be happy with the eco-boost,
I was a little unsure in the beginning with the new motor, but it seams
fine. Have 17,000 miles now, and I love driving it. Great gas mileage, but
you have to use restraint! LOL It's quick

Just ordered an White/Silver XLT 150 Eco today. 6-1/2' bed, bucket seats, max tow and 302A group option. Been on the forum since Mar 04 when I bought my diesel. One lucky or skillful guy, still has all the original injectors, turbo, etc. 69k miles...just time to go.......
Read some sour and good for the Eco but will to give it a shot. If it goes in the shop I'll just have to drive my 56 Victoria.....

Brand new to FTE/Ecoboost forum with a question. Bought lightly used 2011 F-150 XLT w/ EB and loved it until recently towing my 4500 lb camper trailer 800 miles ... a trip that usually takes 12 hrs took 15 hrs because of fuel stops. Only now did I learn that the 36 gal tank was available on 2012 models, not 2011. My short bed with Roll and Lock cover makes an in-bed aux tank impractical. I've just started looking at aftermarket tanks and find the Titan appealing, but apparently only available for diesel fuel. Does anyone have a suggestion on increasing my fuel capacity without sacrificing the already limited bed space? Thanks for any ideas.
Hey All, Traded my 2010 F150 for a 2012 with the eco boost and I have been pleasantly surprised in the difference between the 2 trucks. If I don't keep an eye on the speedo thei could turn into a ticket machine!
New to the forums. I have owned mainly chevy and even a dodge but just bought a 2012 ecoboost crew 3.55 and will pick it up friday. I am gonna catch hell from the family. Hope this motor works out.
Just brought home my 2012 eco. Learned quickly that getting into the turbo really knocks the gas mileage. Lesson learned. Love the truck and learning all the neat gadgets it has. Thanks for the forum.
Picked up a 2012 F150 FX4 model that includes the 3.5L EcoBoost engine and Max Tow Package. So far, running around the county, it's been a great truck.
Back and forth to the office I get ~16.5 mpg. A recent trip to Death Valley, Lone Pine, and back home to San Diego got me ~19.5 mpg.
Next task is to attach my ~5000 pound travel trailer and take a test drive into our local mountains. If this is satisfactory I'll be completely sold.
Cheers,
Charlie
PS. Gripes? Engine oil dipstick is very difficult to reach, even with a step stool and the automatic transmission has no dipstick. Hmmm. Maybe I'm just too old school and dipsticks are becoming obsolete.
