So what is the deal with Bio Diesel and my 97? I was told by the guy selling it that I should not run it. Something about o-rings or seals he wasn't sure but thought it was a good idea to ask around before using it.
I ran b20 in the winter and it always gelled up in my duramax when it got below 20. Also went through lots of fuel filters....Seems to clean things out.
Well I went buy there tonight to check on prices and I guess it mude point now as he not going to sell the Bio any longer. They are switching over to Ethanol free gas.
So what the heck.
Thanks for the input, I will know that it is OK next time I run across it.
Jason is right about the cold weather gelling. I only run it when the temps allow. I always carry a spare fuel filter with me, just in case when running it. I've been going through 1 filter per season. Occasionally more if I don't dry the batches well enough. That's the fool's fault though, not the fuel's.
I started with b50 about 2 months ago. The last tank I mixed to b80. Not a single problem yet and just awesome performance. My truck runs like its supposed to again! Were near Dallas right now and on the way here yesterday we stopped to see tony wildman. He put a 4 pos chip on my truck at a really great price. I got stock, Eco, tow and extreme on it. All of them woke it up even more. Extreme just scares me. I left a French fry smelling cloud of smoke down his street before I could think to let up on the gas! bio is better. Find some. You won't regret it.
My friend was making biodiesel for a while. My truck has run it 100% many many times, runs great, dont be afraid to run biodiesel 100%. Hell one time we were taking a road trip in a 86 6.9 mid summer and because we were driving a couple hundred miles we just filtered straight vegetable oil and filled one tank with it. Ran great lol.
