I didn't know the hypermax system used the stock air cleaner? Exhaust looks good, 3 inch or 3.5 inch?

Sorry i didnt get out and get pics of the exhaust today but the hypermax kit uses 3.5" but the down pipe is onlt 2.5". I do like the hypermax for changing glow plugs the only thing i remove is the filter to turbo pipe with the cdr attached and that takes about a min. It doesnt seem ats is that easy is banks the same Oh and the hypermax exhaust can be modified to work with stock na exhaust. I found this on you tube whttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJfDhWL4wHw&feature=player_detailpageay?

Banks is easy too, maybe not as easy as your setup. All you need is a extension and a swivel and it will be easy.

I missed that this was about a turbo exhaust. Does anyone have a recommendation for an exhaust with out a turbo?

I have the same question.. my '89 IDI non turbo sounds really good, but was thinking of maybe a bigger pipe as well. I like the 'throaty' sound it has and want to make it louder LOL

That video is of an na 6.9. the hypermax exhaust can be put on just behind the Y pipe right at the trans crossmember i think just as long as the pipe is pointing strait back. Again i will attempt to get pics of mine tomorrow so you can get a better idea of what i mean. mines a turbo but ill try and explain the na setup too.

check my pics, i did dual three inch off the manifolds to a single four inch and it screamed like a raped train horn, okay i just wanted to put that in a sentence. haha. It ran like a beast and i could take early strokes off the line no prob. i have a c6 so they would catch up fast at about 50 mph but it made them look like a ricer fly by because i already proved my point at 40mph. now with turbo i get asked if i have a chip or similar, to which i reply well yeah bro look at the hood, the rocks are eating the hood like crazy theres all kinds of chips. haha. if you want here is the link to the pic of the pipes HERE

That 3in looks nice no sharp bends and such they have a lot of bark strait piped. I like the turbo better because it even got rid of that intake drone. I always say"i did have a chip in mine but the boy found it under the seat and ate it!"
