Picking mine up this afternoon and here's the timeframe from order to delivery (I never asked for VIN so do not know when the VIN was available).
> 1/20 - Ordered (6 week guestimate)
> ?/?? - Ecoboost launch and build of back orders
> 3/04 - Checked had been bucked a week earlier but was TBD build status
> 3/10 - Still showed TBD
> 3/15 - Stopped at dealer
- - - dealer checked while there - scheduled to ship 3/15
> Invoice has a date of 2/24/11 on it (date ready for build)
> 3/15 - Truck arrived at dealer lot sometime Tuesday night
- - - he tracked and saved it from going to a marshalling yard
- - - plant to dealer 37 miles
> 3/16 - Looked at it, finalized trade (went up $1500) and numbers (0%, $1,500 in rebates) rebates are disappearing.
> 3/17 - Picking it up this afternoon with bedliner installed and undercoated
> Order to delivery 8 weeks
- - - I've a salesman that along with being a good guy works for ya'. Purchased numerous cars from over the years and gave a few referrals - it works both ways.

I talked to him about the ability to track build status etc and he said it isn't like it used to be, even for the dealers. For whatever reason the info is not as public as it used to be. So if some of you are having a hard time getting info and think you've a lazy dealer, they too are struggling with getting info folks.
And also on rebates, read a number of other threads on them - you get what's available at time of delivery, not at time of order. He had a repeat customer that was buying period, he tried to get to do finance / seal the deal and customer balked a day or two - Cost $2k in rebate loss.

I was looking at some other posts and someone said that some units were being sent back to the plant for rework, which has me kinda wondering. I ordered a 6.2 4X2 F150 back in Dec. I got the serial number back in early to mid Feb with an expected delivery Mar 3..Well today is Mar 17 and the dealership doesn't know where the heck it is. Seems like there is a black hole between build date and arrival date, where nobody know what is happening. I drove past the marshalling yard in Edmonton a few weeks ago and it was full, full, full. So either I'm a victim of the booming Alberta economy or they accidently buried my truck under a snowbank and will find it in the spring. Suck, cuz the lease was up on the Dodge in early March and now I'm forced to use the Fusion as a truck.

Don~
Sorry for your wait, and lease expiration. I was without a truck, 1st time in over 26 yrs, since a day or two before ordering. Got $2k over T-in so let it go. Then all h#(( broke loose around here for winter weather (at least this area) and only had the Fusion to use. Not the best, but but beats walking. It is amazing how much you can get in the back as far as lumber, but couldn't manage the pre-hung doors so projects have been on hold.
Hope you hear something soon - like it's here!

Mine built Feb 8th. It is in the same black hole. Spoke with Dealer tonight. He has been on the horn with the Ontario Ford rep for some answers. If they don't let me know where it is by tomorrow, I may cancel my deal and go somewhere else. Enough is enough!! I was supposed to use the truck to go on a holiday to Florida April 1st. Ordered the truck on Oct 30th.
