cat back duel system midpipe

cat back duel system midpipe

hi i bought a cat back duel exhaust system for my 2006 ford f150 and the mid pipe comming from the y pipe is 2.5in but the muffler tip that is suppose to connect there is 3in..........and now i find out to connect the muffler there is an 18 in mid pipe that adapts to 3 in. where can i find one of those becuase auto zone nor advance auto has it.

not sure, but it sounds like you need a 18 in pipe with a 2.5 in inside dia that the y pipe will fit into and a 3 in outside dia on the other end for the muffler to fit into. if the manufacturer of the exhaust doesn't carry this ive had some luck with napa, adap, or pep boys. if you do not have these in you're area, a good muffler shop should be able to knock something out for you for relatively cheap. also Ive noticed sometimes the pipes fit so tight ive had to use a pipe stretcher. they also are not that expensive or a local autoparts store may rent or even loan you one.
