Looks like you got a great deal. Thanks for the info about ordering, I'm going to hold out for the 2012's. I have heard the longer the vehicle is on the lot, the more expensive it gets for them. What are they telling you about delivery time?
Good Luck....they told me basically the same thing.
I ordered my truck Jan 3rd and it finally came in March 15th.
I ordered the F-250 diesel dark blue
I ordered mine around Xmas of '07, showed up at the dealer end of January (month later) took another few weeks before the lift and entertainment system were installed before I actually took possession.
I agree though, ordering is cheaper and less hassle in my opinion.
Can anybody explain how ordering versus buying off the lot is cheaper?
Dealers finance their inventories which means interest costs. Additionally if it's not sold in so many days they sometimes have to pay the whole thing off which ties up capital until they can sell it. Add overhead and insurance costs in there too. Really surprised some dealers keep as many in stock as they do. Do they maybe get an additional disount for buying so many at one time? I would think any savings would be quickly offset though.

If rebates go up during that period I save even more.
I'll never loose the $2500 rebate if they go down.
Told they would do nothing but go up, due to rising fuel cost this summer.
Congrats and welcome to FTE! Others may be sick of me preaching this, but request a copy of the DORA from your dealer and compare all the codes to the order guide, available here. That way you know you that everything you ordered was entered correctly and a month from now you're not finding out the dealer screwed something up.
Looks like you got a pretty good deal on the price as well!
