need help SOON!

My '96 F150 2wd 302 M5OD is cutting in and out going down the road, its fine in the mornings and if its not to hot in the afternoon its fine, but if its hot out it will start fine and run fine until the thermostat pops, then it starts bucking and kicking, its shut off on me 2 times on me going down the road.
After it shuts off if I let it sit for 10-20 mins it'll start up fine and drive fine. And if I hold the clutch a rev it when it starts cutting out I can normally keep it going but in the end its inevitable, its going to shut off.
I've check the fuel pressure and its good, all in spec.

I'm stumped.

Just thought of something, could it be fuel pump relay switch?

have you pulled codes? Not sure if they changed the system for 96,but my 95 ran similar and it was the pip sensor in the distributor.

That is strange where it starts bucking and kicking then shuts off and won't start for 10 to 20 minutes. Usually a bad ignition component will just up and die with no warning. We don't know for sure if it's an ignition problem or a fuel delivery problem. Some time when it dies and won't restart, you would have to check to see if you have spark through the spark plug wires while cranking the engine. Then you would know which tree to bark up: ignition or fuel delivery.

So this is gonna sound nuts, but it could be spark plugs. If they're bad enough, they get hot, which increases the resistance, which increases the heat. You see where this is going. My 94 F250 with a 460 shut off on me right in the middle of town. And besides, you may as well change the plugs anyway.

Spark Plugs are gone.
I have not pulled codes, but my light isn't on. I had a 411 and something else and then one day, it just magicaly went away and started running better.

Sounds very much like a PIP or TFI issue. Both are very common on this vintage truck.

It could even be the ect or coolant sensor. Being that it is temp related.

I tried the TFI module this afternoon we will see. When I started it back up after the TFI module change it seemed to run a little cleaner. Idk we'll see.
